Read The Official Notification Issued By Delhi’s Transport Government On HSRPsFebruary 24, 2021
High Security Registration Plates and colour coded stickers are made mandatory by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) for the vehicles sold before 2019. HSRPs have a chromium-based hologram of Ashoka Chakra in blue colour on the top left corner to ensure that the registration plate is authentic. The plate itself is made of aluminium and has a 10-digit permanent identification number (PIN) printed on it.
Those living in Delhi can apply for a high-security registration plate (HSRP) and/or colour-coded stickers online from the government authorized portal bookmyhsrp.com. For booking an appointment, you need to submit your details along with the fees. The online portal is very safe to use and works seamlessly. Once you submit the fees, you need to visit the fitment location according to the booked appointment slot. You can purchase the HSRPs and colour coded stickers offline as well from the authorized auto dealers or local Regional Transport Offices.
Delhi’s Transport Government has released an official notification regarding the HSRPs for vehicles that are registered in this state. According to this notification:

An online portal is also designed for submitting an application for HSRPs and colour coded stickers
Those who have not purchased HSRPs and colour coded stickers are likely to pay fines according to the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and CMV rules, 1989
While submitting an application for HSRP Delhi through an online portal, if a person needs any assistance, he/she can call on the customer care number, 011-47504750. Besides this, queries and/or complaints can be shared on the customer grievance email id, email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
At present, The Government of Delhi has not come up with any deadline regarding the issuance of HSRP, nevertheless, you should still purchase it as soon as possible. Those who will not purchase the HSRP have to pay hefty fines. A challan can be released against the owner who has not replaced the normal plate of the vehicle with an HSRP. If a person is caught driving without a High Security Registration Plate, then he can be asked to pay a penalty of Rs 5500 as per the amended Motor Vehicle Act.
Just like HSRPs, FASTags are also mandatory in Delhi. Hence, those who have not yet applied for FASTags are also liable to pay fines. If you have got a FASTag for your vehicle, you can either apply online on the respective bank’s website portal or offline at the POS located on the toll plazas. There are about 23 banks currently offering FASTag services and HDFC bank is one of the leading service providers. You can submit an application for HDFC FASTag online on this bank’s official website.
